We’ve landed in the beautiful city of New Orleans, known for being the birthplace of jazz, rock and roll and the blues.
We’re here, of course, for the 2018 Expo! Expo! event, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE)’s annual exhibition for event industry professionals.
Thousands of professionals, including corporate event planners, event marketers and trade show organizers, are here for the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center for the industry’s leading event of the season.
Streampoint is proud to be a strategic partner of Expo! Expo!, as we work with IAEE to take the annual exhibition to the next level.
In this recap, I’ll share highlights of what went down for day one of this exciting event. There’s a lot more to come this week. If you’re not able to make it to Expo! Expo! this year, do not fear. We’ll make it feel like you are there.
Day one: what went down?
Registration has kicked off bright and early in the convention center lobby. And the exhibition floor was packed with exhibitors and attendees. We’re all geared up for a fantastic week of learning, sharing and connecting.

Visitors to the Streampoint booth saw the latest updates to the platform, including new printing technologies, customized reporting features and integrations.
How the latest technologies impact the world of work
Emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, drones, and virtual and augmented reality, have a significant impact on today’s economy. Nancy Giordano, Founder and CEO of Play Big Inc., gave an inspiring keynote speech during the opening general session on how emerging technologies are making an impact on future jobs and how companies must make significant shifts to stay relevant.

Time for a huddle!
Throughout the day, dozens of technology companies, including Feathr, Bear Analytics, Streampoint and ZenSpace, offered their digital insight to attendees in a series of tech huddles at the Tech Bar.

Feeling festive at Expo! Expo!
Event planners certainly know how to have fun. The day culminated with the opening reception, held at Mardi Gras World. It was quite a pleasant surprise. It was great to be able to see floats from the Mardi Gras parade up-close and personal. Here’s a glimpse of the festivities.
It was a great start to the week, to say the least.
